Flatulence Problem in Pit Bull Dogs

The pit bull like human beings gets rid of the excess gas from the digestive system from time to time. One can not blame the pit bull for this. After all pit bull is also living things like so many other animals. Whenever there is accumulation of the gas in the intestine, the pit bulls push that out by farting. You may not get the sound but the stink that follows farting will definitely make you aware of that. The pit bull will feel relieved very much once the excess gas is eliminated.

The farting of the pit bull will not be a problem if you are walking with the pet dog outside. But farting will certainly embarrass you if you are at home with your friends or guest. Hence the flatulence problem of the pit bulls needs to be attended to. Let’s have little information about flatulence problem of pit bull here.

Reasons for Pitbull Flatulence

As we discussed already the flatulence is nothing but the accumulation of gas in the intestinal tract. Occasional flatulence is of course very normal. But consistent and prolonged flatulence is a problem as it may lead to various health issues. Flatulence results from the digestion process and the gas released in the chemical reaction gets accumulated in the digestive tract if produced in excess.

There are many causes for pit bull flatulence. They are as follows. Swallowing the air along with the food, while eating the food hurriedly. Feeding the pit bull with ingredients that are likely to release more gas such as sprouts, beans etc. Feeding the pit bull with dairy products such as milk and cheese is not good as it cause flatulence in pit bulls which have lactose intolerance. The dog food that are made up of table scraps and the food that are very cheap are likely to have more filler that increases the chances of flatulence in pit bulls.

How to get rid of flatulence?

There are so many ways to deal with pit bull flatulence. One should not feed the pit bulls with left over food, scrap foods and the foods that are actually intended for the lovely pit bull pet dog. One should buy good quality pit bull food and should always go in for good and reputed brands. The pet owner should read the labels carefully and avoid the food that has fillers in it. If the main ingredient of the food is chicken or lamb then one can understand the food is good and can not be rejected as a food that has fillers.

Never try to feed the pit bull with the food that contains ingredients that generate more gas. The pit bulls can be given a spoonful of yogurt after the meal. The pit bulls enjoy yogurt and the yogurt will help in improving the digestion there by limiting the flatulence problem. One should always remember that many pit bulls are having lactose intolerance which can result in flatulence problem. Hence it is recommended that the pit bull needs to be taken to nearby vet clinic for thorough check-up.
