How to Stop Pitbull Chewing?


So, you're frustrated a lot as your pitbull chewing up your home. Don't worry! You're not alone. There are so many owners like you don't know how to cope up with this problem. You can simply stop pitbull chewing by giving training at young age because they are perfectly capable of learning not to chew your remote controls, cameras, mobile phones, or the arms off your dream sofa.

Do adopt the following simple training principles to stop pitbull chewing-

1. Try to stop the pitbull before it learns. If you enjoy the act of chewing your favorite furniture at young age, then you'll be in severe trouble as and when it grows. Immediately scold him/her as soon as you see your dog chewing. Once they learn that they will be punished straight away, they will soon stop chewing.

2. Try to puppy proof your house as much as possible. You should know how to control the situation. You should take full control. The basic idea of dog proof your home is keeping everything away from the reach of your dog especially the things you don't want your pitbull to chew. The common items that is going to be damaged includes remote controls, cellphones, small appliances, shoes, socks, books, etc. So try to safe guard these items before start pitbull training.

Here is something that helped me while training my Pit to not chew up the wrong things is - I would scold her (hold the chewed object in front of her and in a firm voice say – NO! several times) when I would catch chewing the wrong things. I would then give her a rawhide bone and in a pleasant happy Voice Say Yes and pet her head. This seemed to do the trick now chews only the bone and not my garden hose.
